East Coast Take: April 17, 2012 GChat

Jeff:
Cervelli was a decent backup and hit .66 points higher than Stewart and is four years younger. I don’t think Stewart is Bench crossed with Pudge behind the plate either
really makes no sense

Jeff:
also CC hasn’t looked solid in a month. Twins aren’t mighty bats either. I gotta say, it’s annoying to have a team full of “slow starters”. I should do nothing at work from Jan to March and just say “hey, I’m a slow starter”. Kobe should shoot 20% with 5 ppg for a month and be like hey, I’m just a slow starter.

Frank:
haha, that would be good, and show up to work late, and say, yup, slow riser too. well, i know CC is struggling, but at least, the mets are down 6-0 and the sox are down 4-2

Sent at 5:18 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
The thing about CC is that he hasn’t been very good since Aug 2011 around the time when Girardi went w/ the 6 man rotation. There’s no excuse this season however.

Sent at 5:24 PM on Tuesday
Jeff:
He starts slow. Claims its too chilly

Frank:
oh ok
Sent at 5:26 PM on Tuesday

Jeff:
Whoa

Sent at 5:27 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
haha, liriano is pretty garbage anyways. mike pelfrey is way better than this dude

Sent at 5:28 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
CC is doing the pavano, give up 3 runs, but shut them down the rest of the way.

Sent at 5:51 PM on Tuesday
Jeff:
Yeah, same as vs the Orioles. He’s a slow starter.

Sent at 6:05 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
yeah. you know, i gotta give CC some credit here, if Mariano didn’t blow game 1, he’s record is 3-0

Sent at 6:09 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
you know the knicks just scored 72 by halftime? against one the best defensive team since the all-star break. I have no idea what’s happened to them at MSG lately. looks like another 20+ point victory.

Sent at 6:21 PM on Tuesday
Jeff:
of course I bash Chris Stewart and his goes 2-4 with 3 rbis.

Sent at 6:35 PM on Tuesday
Jeff:
oh it’s the 3-point show. damn 14-21 from 3. can’t lose those games.

Sent at 6:37 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
haha, it kinda worked with CC tonight too. He heard your chat and was like, I’m doing the pavano.

Sent at 6:45 PM on Tuesday
Frank:
tonight’s like your dream scenario, yanks up 8-3, sox down 12-2, mets down 8-3.

Jeff: haha

East Coast Take: April 13, 2012 GChat

10:55 AM
Frank:
how garbage are the angels? i knew they weren’t going to be any good

and now they have pujols for 10 years

10:55 AM
Jeff:
haha
10:56 AM
wow that was a close play at first

might’ve been the right call too

10:58 AM
Frank:
Btw, i’m terrified at the Yanks now. They are the reincarnation of the 1998 yanks. Same 0-3 start, same Kentucky championship. I’m about one more Yankee sweep away from not following the MLB season

Jeff:
it could all add up
10:59 AM

Frank:
i think so

there’s really nobody better overall than the yanks

the rangers basically killed their chances when they signed nathan

Jeff:
haha

Frank:
apparently, he’s not good when they use him back to back

wtf is that? you’re a closer

you should go back to back to back

Jeff:
not if you’re team doesn’t win much
11:00 AM
then it’s not an issue

Frank:
the rangers will win a ton
11:01 AM
nathan has already started to look shakey because he went back to back

Jeff:
so what’s Feliz, the setup man?
11:02 AM
Frank:
starter

they changed him

Jeff:
haha

all these relievers want to be failed starters
11:03 AM
Frank:
yup, i think feliz is doing okay so far, but yeah, he’ll probably suck too

there’s only one Wainwright, all the other converted guys suffer
11:04 AM
Its comical to me how the same thing happens year after year. Just because you sign two FA doesn’t mean you’re a 95 win team.

I think in history, the only time that worked was the 1997 Marlins, and they were a wild card team
11:05 AM
that won the WS in game 7

Heck, I think the Mariners have the best shot at the AL West title. The Rangers shot themselves in the foot with the Nathan signing and the Angels are so overrated
11:07 AM
I can’t believe its still 3-0, it feels like it should be 6-0 right now.

11:08 AM
Jeff:
another bad call. I mean you rarely see it called, but Aybar just bunted for a basehit but both his feet were completely out of the batter’s box

Frank:
yeah, bad call for sure. Congrats on four in a row. Plus, Kuroda, O ER, starting to come into shape
Sent at 1:09 PM on Friday

Frank:
Oh goodness, 8 IP, only 5 hits? Kuroda is back

Jeff:
Yeah not bad

Frank:
I think he should just skip his next start in Tampa
He’s better in real MLB stadiums, not that garbage dome in Tampa
Sent at 1:12 PM on Friday

Frank:
Pujols, 2 RBI, .300 OBP, laughable

East Coast Take: April 11, 2012 GChat

12:25 PM
Frank:
1-5, red sox should hire joe torre to fix their team

12:26 PM
Jeff:
wow they lost again

Frank:
yup

Jeff:
so this is a good sign, they’ll dominate from May to Aug

Frank:
hey, are you ready for some soriano tonight?

definitely no mariano or robertson after 3 in a row

Jeff:
oh damn, good point

12:27 PM
I heard Soriano got a hang nail or something

Frank:
haha, man

Jeff:
they should send Mariano down to bring up some fresh arms

12:28 PM
Frank:
I bet cashman brings up soriano whenever he has an argument w/ hal and hank

Jeff:
hahah

but then they’ll bring up Feliciano

Frank:
haha

Jeff:
just kidding, nobody remembers who he is

12:29 PM
Frank:
is he even in the yankee yearbook?

i bet not

Jeff:
haha

12:30 PM
his contract was so horrible, nobody even discusses it

Frank:
yeah, right

0 pitches for 2 years

Jeff:
it’s like someone having cancer, you try not to bring it up

12:31 PM
Frank:
right, haha

is he even rehabbing?

i don’t even think he’s trying to come back

Jeff:
haha
